MathYou will work to acquire the skill of "thinking outside the box". when solving math problems, especially word problems. There is not a set of rules that tells you how to solve every problem. You can start by reading the story carefully and then formulate a plan to approach a problem using skills acquired in 5th grade. The first skill all students in this class will have is the knowledge and ability to manipulate the complete multiplication table from zero to twelve - 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. This years' class of 2020 learned the intricacies of the numbers - 13, 14, 15 , 16, 17, 18, 19. |

Writing In learning to write, you need to formulate your own ideas from the information you have been given. This is so easy and fun to do. It only takes practice, lots and lots of practice... Daily, weekly, monthly, every school quarter, and in every subject. That means all five subjects. Note-taking and summarizing are skills you will learn and improve. Articles will be read and summarized. This knowledge will be used for writing . Students will learn how to find the main idea in each paragraph in a story or article. |
